I'm doing a project for photography class again. Help me out by bouncing an idea off me?
Okay, we're doing femininity. I'm girl, yes but I'm having trouble. I've gone through the mother nature, hair, make up, and clothes routine. I don't like it. I just need an idea to get me started. Also, do not suggestion naked curves, breasts, necks, or anything like that. The female body is not the only thing that could be considered feminine. It's also very over played.

There could be several types of femininity such a mother with her guy, different angles and views of skin, close up of a woman's eyes, it is kinda like you just need to sit back and think of what it means to you. To me I think of a mom with her guy or softness, or you could go the sheer and sexy route. Photographs have to reflect you and so you need to look into your views and you will find it as you start shooting.

Why do so many female models wannabe do this?
It seems like no matter how good reputation the photographer can have. They could work with bunches top multi million dollars models, have contracts with many agents, never done nude photography, and a stellar clean record. It seems there are always a lot of female customers (NOT all!) who would come in and make a appointment and stuff. Then she’d warn the photographer that she refuse to do any nude, and start to really question the photographer and get to point where it is borderline interrogation as if she really expect the photographer to suddenly break down and admit that he planned on try get her naked. Then they’d want to bring some thug boyfriend/friend/neighbor/etc… along with them to keep eye on the photographer during the shooting.
Then if you go to that person myspace, you’d find nothing but bunches of pictures or blogs of her getting totally wasted with bunches of strangers and pass out, making out with other girl, getting naked in public, how she went to club and got her butt or breast grabbed by bunches of guys, and other stuff.
I’m trying to understand what’s up with this? I’ve known a couple photographers who have been threatened with a knife or gun before the shooting even started. I’ve got threaten by a couple boyfriends/escorts before and at that point I always end the shooting and ask them to leave.
Why do they do this sort of thing? It makes absolutely no sense at all!

This coming year I will be a senior in high school, and I have no idea which colleges I should apply to.

Ethnicity: half Taiwanese, half Indian
Parents: divorced

GPA: 3.5 unweighted
SAT Score: 2060
Bio SAT II Score : 760
History AP Exam Score: 5
-I will be retaking the SAT I's in October and taking Math II SAT II's in November
-I am also taking the AP Calc, AP Lit, AP Gov, and maybe AP Spanish tests in my senior year

I live in New Jersey so my current plan is to attend Rutgers University and apply for entrance into their Pharmacy or Business Program, but aside from that I am not sure which other colleges I should be applying to. I do not think I have a chance at an Ivy League and even if I did get in I definitely could not afford it.

Does anyone have any advice as to which colleges I should be applying to, my chances of getting in, and the amount of financial aid at each college (ex: chances of me getting a scholarship, etc)? I was also wondering what the procedures are for asking a college about financial aid.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it a lot.

Rutgers New Brunswick would be an excellent choice. You might also want to have a look at TCNJ. It's a public college, like Rutgers, but it's smaller, and the students who go there are really happy there.

I don't know if you stand a shot at the Ivys, but know that if your family is low income, the Ivys (and certain other schools) have extremely generous financial aid policies. If you can get in, and you're low income, they'll work hard to make it so you can attend. With your grades and SATs and etc., for schools with generous aid, I'd suggest you perhaps look at Kenyon, Grinnell, Swarthmore, Rice, Vanderbilt, Washington and Lee. I have no idea if those schools offer the majors you want.

If you're not low income, there are some schools, like Wesleyan in CT, that offer strong merit (academic-based) aid.

You should also continue to look at the strong public colleges in your home state of NJ. Rutgers NB, TCNJ, Drew, and NJIT.

I might also point out Yeshiva U, in NYC. Yeshiva is predominantly Jewish, which you probably are not; but it's a strong school that tends to give good financial aid.

And you should apply to at least one Ivy. Why not reach? Worst that happens, you don't get in; but your stats aren't SO far off that I don't think you stand a chance. Why not pick one or two and try?

As for asking colleges about financial aid, don't be shy about it. It's a normal question.

What are my chances of getting into NYU Stern?

The reality is that, while this sort of question gets asked 40 or 50 times a day (at least), any inquires relative to getting accepted into ANY institute of higher learning can be answered by referring to any college's/university's website and referencing their minimum admission requirements.

Obviously my looks are like no one else’s, with my olive skin tone, my black hair and dark eyes; to completely make sure my look is my own, I have invested in 5 piercing and one tattoo.

We also speak very well, which considering the fact we are ‘working class’ and live in an area where people do not speak correctly, is quite strange. My mother has always told me off for not pronouncing words properly, which I see now has done me good.
I have a religion which has stemmed from my mothers influence, even though she is not Wiccan herself. Being a wiccan means that I cannot do harm to any other living being, which means I am very close to nature and get involved with helping the earth and earths creatures, how ever small. My interests are photography (mainly wildlife), shopping (what girl doesn’t??) and being with my boyfriend. The shopping is what I think of as being quite a popular hobby choice in women, but I doubt they do it a much as me! I shop about once every single day, if not more often! So that is my identity; I’m a bit different, but I am me.
